To Returning Students Entering Grade 11 or 12 in the Fall and their Parents:

Academic Course Selection Review

  • Normally, students would have made appointments during the spring term with one of the University Counsellors to review, in person, their academic course selections. Given the current situation, online appointments with University Counselling will be conducted starting Wednesday, March 25. Students will make appointments through our online booking system found HERE on our University Counselling website, as normal. For each appointment, a Zoom meeting link will be entered on the Google Calendar entry that is generated, and the University Counsellor will host the online appointment with the student. This process will take time through the spring as meetings have to be conducted with well over 250 students in Grade 11 and 10!
  • The information provided on the pages of this website should answer all of the questions you may have; please take the time to review the information provided carefully. Should you still have questions, we ask that students submit their Course Selections and then save their questions for when they meet with one of the University Counsellors. Parents are encouraged to wait to ask any of their questions until after students have met with one of the University Counsellors as most questions will have likely been answered by that time.

Reporting on Academic Course Selections

  • At year's end, we will report to parents about the process in the final Report Card. Final marks in key academic classes will help us to ensure that selections are appropriate and provide the basis for any recommendations. As the material you access will reinforce: the process is fluid, and we invite the students to reflect on their plans and course selections throughout the spring. If changes are required, they need to connect with University Counselling to discuss it all.

To Returning Students Entering Grades 9 or 10 in the Fall and their Parents:

  • The process of making your Academic Course selections is straightforward, so no Review with University Counselling is required, and no report about your selections will be provided.
  • If you have any questions that remain unanswered after completing the process outlined on these pages, you can contact Rick Rodrigues, Director of University Counselling.
